Zelda: Ocarina of Time MQ Playthrough #084, Final Battle, Ending Scenes, and Credits
This is video #084 in my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest. Link and Zelda have escaped Ganon's Castle after Link's defeat of Ganondorf. All seems safe until a thud is heard from the ruins of the castle.
When Link goes in to investigate, Ganondorf emerges from the wreckage, and he looks angry. He uses the Triforce of Power to take a form that Zelda veterans will know and love: a massive hog. Unfortunately, he knocks the Master Sword out of Link's hand. Link should equip Biggoron's Sword or, if he does not have that, the Megaton Hammer.
His weak point is his tail. Link can stun him by shooting him in the face with a Light Arrow, but during the first round, he moves slowly enough that Link can sneak underneath his body while he is slashing wildly with his swords and then strike the beastly tail.
When Ganon has collapsed, the ring of fire around the arena will go down, and Link can grab the Master Sword. He must use this sacred sword to defeat Ganon.
When Ganon revives, he is faster, and it will be harder to sneak around to his tail. The Light Arrows will be practically mandatory to stun him. If Link runs low on arrows or magic, manipulate Ganon into slashing the debris around the arena. It also helps to bring along a Green Potion to replenish magic.
When Ganon has taken enough damage, Zelda will restrain him with her power. While Ganon is down, Link must close in and attack. Hurry, before the Evil King revives!
Finally, the Sages seal Ganon away into the void of the Evil Realm. Unfortunately, this will lead to plenty of trouble in other Zelda games...
After Ganondorf does some ranting, there is a final scene between Zelda and the adult Link. This scene is somewhat bittersweet. After the scene is over, the ending credits play, and we are treated to a tour of Hyrule along with the beautiful strains of Zelda's Lullaby. Then, there is a big party at Lon Lon Ranch. It looks like all of Hyrule has turned out to celebrate Ganondorf's downfall. The only ones who seem unhappy are Mido and King Zora.
Then the Sages return to the world of the living atop Death Mountain.
Then Link returns to his youth and leaves the Master Sword to rest forever in the Temple of Time. Of course, we know that the Master Sword will not remain there forever. As he leaves the temple, Navi leaves him.
Finally, there is a scene with young Link and young Zelda in the courtyard of Hyrule Castle.
This concludes my playthrough of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest. Practically all the changes that I noticed were to the dungeons: the dungeon puzzles and where dungeon items were located. After being used to the normal quest puzzles, some of the Master Quest puzzles are a bit disorienting. Some things are not obvious at all, such as shooting the cows inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly. I have played the normal quest to death, but I have only played the Master Quest three or four times. I feel that they could have done a little bit more to add challenge to the overworld, especially Hyrule Field, but overall, the Master Quest is a good challenge.
Thanks for watching!
