2021/01/12 update: Things have evolved since this review. So back in the day, Razer had "speed" and "control" versions of their mouse pads. Regardless of actual speed, they named the smooth one "speed" and the bumpy one "control". Because they were so popular, I used them as the standard to explain things to people.

So when I called this a "speed" pad, I just meant it didn't have the bumpy texture that other cloth pads had. But in terms of actual "speed" or "resistance", this one is a control pad. It offers a lot of control compared to other cloth pads.

Video #2 of Zowie Week: The large, full black, stitched edged, speed pad from Zowie. I've played Quake for over 17 years and my aim was quite good with it, especially with the Zowie EC2-A. Also tested the FK2 and ZA12 and ZA13 with it.
