Zukanov: Battle Test 2
0This description contains a large amount of important information regarding the future of my videos, so I suggest you read if you'd like to stay up-to-date with everything.
First off, the old battle test I posted earlier this year is completely obsolete and outdated now. As you can see, these sprites are purely scratched, and the music is completely custom. Who are the artists behind these two things? Well, my music maker is known on YouTube as ThePhantomCorrector (he is on my list of other channels on my channel if you want to check him out), and he has made several great songs so far. My sprite maker has asked me to keep him/her anonymous until the first episode is released, but I wouldn't be surprised if some people figure out who it is themselves. Either way, without these two people, this series would not have been possible, so I sincerely thank them.
Second, the battle system was edited slightly from last time. Basically, I took away the complicated numbers on the top, as well as the "who goes first" system. The parts I kept were the HP bar always showing as well as the concept of SP, which is used up whenever a person uses an attack other than their basic attack. Other than those two things, the battle system works very similar to Pokemon, so it should not be confusing at all anymore.
Third, when will the series finally be released? Sorry, I still don't have an estimate, but I can tell you this. I have been working on the PowerPoints of the first few episodes, and I am making a ton of progress. Unfortunately, I made the battle system have a lot of animations involved in a single slide, so battle scenes take a surprisingly long time to make. This short video in itself took about two hours to get just right. In other words, I don't want to give an estimate because that will only jinx it, but just know that it is ACTUALLY being worked on; not just being planned/thought about.
Fourth, this may seem unrelated, but it is not. Some people have been wondering about the Blind Black 2 Nuzlocke I've mentioned several times that I will be doing. Unfortunately, I have recently decided that I have no choice but to cancel/postpone it for now. At the moment, I am in my final semester of school. Let me say that again to make sure we're clear. My FINAL semester of school, ever, and then I will be done with school FOREVER. In other words, it is incredibly important, not to mention there is an immense workload involved. Let's put 2 part-time jobs as well as working on the new sprite series on top of it, and what we have is a full load. I cannot do the Nuzlocke at this time, but I might be able to someday down the road when I have more time. It will no longer be blind, however, because I am not going to ignore these games that I bought just for the sake of doing a blind playthrough on YouTube someday. I apologize for having to do this, but it was either this or the new series, and I'm assuming the majority would prefer the new series.
