9Audi is putting a bigger emphasis on electric vehicles with its rechristened Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback models for 2024. The refreshed styling and new Q8 nomenclature may be the most obvious changes, but these flagship EV SUVs from Ingolstadt also gain a larger 106.0-kWh battery pack and more range.\n\nOn the road, the e-tron twins exhibit typical Audi luxury car attributes. The cabin is hushed, the ride quality is sublime, and there's a spacious feeling for all passengers, especially in the non-Sportback Q8. Power from the dual-motor AWD system is more than adequate at 402 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds in the Sportback we tested. However, the Q8 e-trons don't feel quite as accelerative as some EV rivals.\n\nThe estimated ranges are now up to 285 miles for the standard Q8 e-tron and 300 miles for the sleeker Sportback (with the efficiency-optimized Ultra package). While competitive, those figures don't push the boundaries for an EV in this premium segment. At least DC fast charging at up to 170 kW allows an 80 percent recharge in around 30 minutes when needed.\n\nAs you'd expect from Audi, the Q8 e-tron's interior is a technology playground loaded with digital displays and the latest gadgets. Cargo room is plentiful too, though the Sportback's sloped roofline compromises utility slightly versus the standard body style. Overall, the sophisticated cabin ambiance aligns perfectly with the e-trons' luxury positioning and lofty pricing that starts just under $76,000.\n\nThe 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron lineup brings the brand's EV strategy into clearer focus as an electrified alternative to the Q7 and Q8 internal combustion SUVs. These electric high-riders are every bit as luxurious and technology-focused as their gas counterparts, now with premium EV range and performance capabilities.
