In 2009, originally in order to give Siriusmo a musical home, Modeselektor found Monkeytown Records. After two releases by Siriusmo, Modeselektor themselves had their first release on their home label - the first volume of their "Modeselektion" series. Since then the label has gained much reputation and attracted artists from all over the world. However, the list of artists is rather small as the label is meant to be a real home base for its artists, with all possible artistic freedom and a fair relationship between artist and label.
