Nightfire was the same across all the consoles it released on, but on PC it was made by Gearbox using an updated version of the original GoldSrc Engine used for Half-Life 1. The game is completely different, only sharing the same storyline but changing all the levels it features. It's janky, many things don't work right and others may break during gameplay, it's clearly not made for modern computers but that's where the patch by Click4Dylan helps to get it back to a better (still not perfect) state.
