1 year of VR: My journey so far
My review of VR after playing hundreds of VR games over the course of one year for the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift, and the PSVR.
I received my HTC Vive VR HMD on April 5th, 2016 and tried virtual reality the first time. I'm making this video on April 5th 2017, one year later. Over the course of a year I played 200+ VR games, put over 1000 hours into the VR space sim game Elite: Dangerous, and bought the Oculus Rift VR headset with Oculus Touch controllers and the PlayStation VR HMD. In this video I talk about my experiences with VR using the HTC Vive over the course of a year, my thoughts on VR in general and how the VR industry has grown and VR games have changed. I also talk about some of my favorite VR games, locomotion techniques, and my thoughts on HTC Vive vs Oculus Rift vs PSVR.

In this video I also talked about some of the simulation accessories I use for increased VR immersion. I use a SubPac M2 subwoofer backpack to add realistic rumbling to my back in simulation games based on the bass sounds from the game. I also use a T150 force feedback steering wheel and wheel stand for driving and racing VR games, which also helps add haptic feedback. For VR flight sims and space sims, I use the x52 Pro HOTAS.
