763As gamers, we’re all too familiar with the painful sting that comes alongside the cancelled video game, and by this point, we’ve lost count of the titles we’ve been majorly hyped for that have been swiped away from us long before we can hit the pre-order button. Generally speaking, though, the closer a game gets to its proposed launch date, the more likely it is to see release, but as the games on this list are about to prove, just because a game is practically finished, it doesn’t necessarily mean that fans are assured the chance to play it. Indeed, for today’s list, we’re looking at the titles that were mere inches from the finish line when they were cancelled for whatever reason. Naturally, because these games never got a release, we have no idea exactly how complete they were at the time of their unceremonious canning, but according to their devs and various industry insiders, they were at least well on their way to completion, and in the cases of some of these titles, finished, playable products.
