Honda SP 125 Highlights
The successor to CB Shine SP, the Honda SP 125 is the second BS-VI compliant two-wheeler from the Japanese bikemaker. With the addition of SP 125 in its portfolio, Honda became the first manufacturer with 2 BS-VI compliant products. As far as styling is concerned, the Honda gets new body panels, fuel tank extensions, alloy wheels, and headlamp design. The prime difference, however, lies in the heart of SP 125 (more on that in the Engine & Transmission section below).
Exterior Details
At 2,020mm of length, 785mm of width, and 1,103mm of height, the Honda SP 125’s overall length has gone up by 13mm. The overall height and width are also a slight bump over its predecessor’s dimensions. It has a kerb weight of 117kg, ground clearance of 160mm, while the fuel tank capacity stands at 11 litres. Engine & Transmission
The Honda SP 125 is powered by a 124cc BS-VI compliant single-cylinder motor that’s good for 10.6bhp and 10.9Nm of torque. With the BS-VI upgrade, the bike gets electronic fuel-injection and silent start feature. The latter uses an AC generator to start the bike, instead of a conventional stator.
Handling
In comparison to its predecessor, the cycle parts and underpinnings remain unchanged. Therefore, the bike still rides on telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It continues to use a diamond type frame chassis. The braking duties are held by a 240mm disc / 130mm drum at the front and a 130mm drum at the back.
Features
The Honda SP 125 new model, in comparison to its predecessor, now gets a fully-digital instrument cluster that displays live speed, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, trips, and odometer. The headlamp is powered with LEDs while the taillamp remains to be a conventional unit. As for safety, the bike comes with CBS as standard.
