13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim — A Brief Review, With Light Spoilers
0My thoughts on the game after having just completed it.
It was very enjoyable. The twists and turns kept me hooked. While the narrative and art were stunning, the combat sections felt devoid of meaning.
Narratively the combat makes sense, it is just a chore to play. Perhaps if it were an animation sequence it would have felt like a reward for piecing together the threads of story from each character arc. As it is, the combat feels slightly like a punishment. Still though, towards the end of the game the Tower Defense aspects became fun in their own way.
Definitely a game that will get overlooked by many, but thought of fondly by those that experienced it.
I kind of hope they do a Switch port (they won't) because it's perfect for that console, and then maybe more people would play it.
