So this is 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim the prologue and by far one of the longest prologues I've ever played in a game. So I've wanted to do a play through of this game for a while but have been busy with personal stuff. Finally decided to do it so this is quite an interesting game it got praise for the story and character aspect and slammed for it's battle aspect.

I understand though why they did what they did for the battle they kinda want it to be fast paced frantic action. While the story slows it down with intrigue and twists. That being said the reason I took so long to explain the sentinels is so that I can accurately tell the sentinels and their capabilities though just in case I didn't communicate it well enough I'll explain here.

Generation 1 Sentinels are close range kings, they deal alot of damage up close and can shred through armor like a hot knife through butter. That being said some of the sentinels do have long range capabilities but it's not far and very limited in damage more mid-range than long honestly. There's 3 of these and while they share similar armaments they do have their own unique abilities for example Ogata has a special armament that makes his demolisher blade attack a wider range and do more damage.

Generation 2 Sentinels are all rounders, they can deal damage up close, from afar, and also put down support. This makes them good at everything but excel at nothing. That being said I usually play them more like a support unit putting down support to better help the rest of the team. You can play them how you want but it'd be foolish to ignore the support emplacement options.

Generation 3 Sentinels are long range monsters, they can hit from afar and deal a tremendous amount of damage without moving an inch. They have a variety of missiles, cannons and rail gun weapons they also have a single close range attack that is used primarily to force enemies away from them and are much more powerful at a distance.

Finally there are Generation 4 Sentinels who are flight support, they can fly in the air making them immune to the pathing other sentinels have to deal with. They have laser weapons, shield generators, interceptor drones, bombs, and missiles. These guys can be built in a variety of ways, and while all other sentinels have 3 of each generation 4 has 4 sentinels in total.

With that out of the way I mention that very oddly enough an update was put in for the game to give the sentinels new weapons. It really came out of nowhere and while they are useful I only use some of them for sentinels not all of them. Anyway that's it, I'll get more into the story side next video but I'll explain that in the description.
