Some games really don’t resonate on the first playthrough. Perhaps the challenge is too steep to begin with; maybe it’s a sequel that’s a step down from its predecessor; maybe the campaign’s duration is such a slog, and levelling up takes too long, that a new game plus isn’t just an option but a necessity.
