Gukesh was born on 29th of May 2006. So currently he is 15 years and 5 months old. He was locked down for nearly a year and a half and missed playing over the board chess. Like a Lion who is hungry for the prey after being kept in the cage for too long, little Gukesh is on the prowl since July 2021. He has moved from a rating of 2578 to 2635 in just 3 months.

After winning the Norway Open 2021, Gukesh is now playing at the European Club Cup 2021 for Team Prilep. He is now on 4.0/5 on the top board and won his 5th round against GM Aleksandr Indjic. In this video IM Sagar Shah analyzes this game and shows you how accurate and resourceful Gukesh is.
