244Tearing down the TOYOTA 1FZ 4.5L Inline 6 engine getting ready for a rebuild out of my 1993 Land Cruiser with the help of my girlfriend! Removing the exhaust and intake manifold, fuel rail, wiring harness, camshafts, buckets, shims, and cylinder head.
Are these motors really as reliable as they say? Just take a look at those cylinders after 230,000 miles! This motor is actually in really good shape inside! The internals look great. The cylinders look amazing and still have the crosshatching after 230,000 miles. We tore it apart because the timing chain guide was broken and it leaks from every possible place a seal exists, and I didn't want to fix all of this in the truck. Much easier with the engine out!
