#2 Battle Chasers: Nightwar - The Iron Outpost
Battle Chasers: Nightwar is an RPG developed by Airship Syndicate and published by THQ Nordic based on the comic of the same name authored by well-known artist Joe Madureira. Here you will be using the same main characters in the Battle Chasers series namely: the child Guly; her guardians, the wandering swordsman Garrison, the gentle giant Calibretto and the old mage Knolan; the voluptuous Red Monika and an original and new comer Alumon, a devil hunter. With the said main characters, you will be journeying along a mysterious island rich in mana and will be forced to fight other individuals who are intent on eradicating your group for them to take the motherlode of mana for their own. You will also be fighting an ancient entity which is a threat against all living things in the world of Battle Chasers.
A game that received decent reviews ranging from an average score of 75-85 depending on the platforms. Praise was given to its simplistic and effective RPG mechanics, its use of the classic turn based RPG, its great artwork and design and its interesting characters. However, not all is cherry since it received criticisms particularly to its weak plotline, poor character development of the MCs and its sudden jumps in the difficulties of its dungeon. For me, I liked that the devs pursued the old and classic turn based RPGs in the game as well as its great world and character designs. I however did not like its randomized dungeons since you can’t encounter the dungeon could offer you in one try. You have to do it again and again sometime seeing new things but sometimes encountering the same things which is a hassle. Still though, I recommend this game to those who misses turn based RPGS since its mechanic is very simple and easy to pick to. Enjoy the walkthrough!
