Breeding Shiny Ditto With Pikachu for a 1/64 chance of getting a shiny Pichu! The shiny DVs
For a Pokémon to be shiny, it needs 10 DVs in defence, special and speed. And needs 2,3,6,7,10,11,14 or 15 in attack. As the gender of the Pokémon is also determined by the attack DVs, female Pokémon with a 7/8 chance of being male! What's 7/8 in percentage? 87.5 % (e.g. starters) can never be shiny as their attack DVs will always be 0 or 1. Breeding with a shiny ditto, you always pass down the defence IV of the ditto which will be 10, have a 1/2 to get the dittos special IV(either 2 or 10), random chance to get the speed IV(1/16 chance) and random chance for attack IV(1/2 chance due to 8 possibilities). Pichu is the unevolved version of Pikachu, and was introduced in the Generation II Pokémon games. Unlike most Pokémon, Pichu doesn't evolve based on its level. Instead, Pichu will evolve when its Friendship rating has reached 220 out of 255.
