2020 Suzuki Swift Hybrid AllGrip
The Suzuki Swift Hybrid was electrified to improve performance, while reducing fuel consumption
It's time for big changes at Suzuki. With the debut of the second generation of its mild hybrid system , which brings benefits in terms of consumption and emissions to all the models in the range.
After the transition to the turbo with the latest series, now is the time for Suzuki Swift to switch to electrifying with a "light" hybrid system".
From an aesthetic point of view, the Swift Hybrid did not differ in any way from the petrol version on the market until a few months ago. Small changes in style made of small aerodynamic parts that makes the new Swift Hybrid look a little different.
It continues to make lightness one of its main strengths, although with the addition of electrification it weighs a little more going from the previous 975 kg, to the current 1,020 kg . The reason however, is not only of the hybrid system, but also of the many improvements that Suzuki technicians have carried out on the 1.4-liter engine. Now, the four-cylinder is equiped with an oversized turbine and double variable timing.
The result? 129 hp and 235 Nm of torque . Yes, it is true, the power delivered by the engine is lower than the previous petrol variant, however, the Sport Hybrid can rely on the extra thrust of the electric unit which alone develops 13 HP.
