2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Off Road Features and Interior Detais
2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro: Four Wheeler Pickup Truck of the Year Contender
The new Tundra is finally here! But is it enough?
It's been a good year for pickup fans as several of the oldest platforms in the segment have received major updates, but the nod for most impressive transformation must go to the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Toyota has updated every piece of its flagship full-size pickup. The truck sports a powerful new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine, a new 10-speed automatic transmission, and it incorporates a hybrid-electric drive system as well. The new truck ditches traditional rear leaf springs in favor of coil springs and a five-link. The interior features the largest display screen in the segment and on the outside Toyota has added more off-road goodies such as an LED light bar in the grille.
It's worth noting right off the bat that Toyota was incredibly generous with us and provided a very early pre-production Tundra for our testing. As such, at press time Toyota has yet to publicly announce either pricing or EPA fuel economy for the i-Force Max hybrid powered Tundra pickups, which includes TRD Pro models.
Starting with a blank sheet, Toyota had the perfect opportunity to create the off-road Tundra of our dreams. Did Toyota achieve this goal? Read on to find out just how well the 2022 Tundra TRD Pro fared.
