120Q is a game that requires a lot of your honesty and ignores your actual skills. This is a guessing game with an AI represented by a glowing face, that looks a lot like a crossbreed between I, Robot’s Sonny and the animated masks from Kassai and Leuk.
The AI asks you to think of an object that is not a proper noun nor a very specific person, place or thing. It helps to keep in mind that 20Q is not really a psychic machine, instead relying heavily on its robust database of “basic things.” I was gravely disappointed after the AI answered “baked potatoes” when I was, at all times, thinking of “crystal meth.”
20Q is already popular, as it has its own dedicated handheld device and, to my surprise, a TV show. The game’s title basically means “20 questions.” The AI acts like an arrogant, overconfident prophet, declaring that it knows what you are thinking. In order for the AI to determine what is on your mind, it asks questions until it slims down to the closest approximation of the item in question.
