This video introduces some basic research concepts. Topics include populations, samples, kinds of samples (representative, random, biased), sample size, the law of large numbers, operational definitions, quantitative and categorical variables, statistical relationships, between groups differences, significant relationships, scatterplots, Pearson's r correlation coefficient, kinds of relationships, spurious relationships, the directionality problem, and the third variable problem.
