10 years ago, Zanarkand's star Blitzball player disappeared while out training. Now, a Blitzball Tournament is to be held in his honor. But when the city falls under attack by a mysterious amphibious creature, the star player of the Zanarkand Abes, Teedus, finds himself in a scenario no one could have foreseen.

As Teedus grapples with seeing his homeland in disrepair, Yuna and her Guardians still have a task to accomplish; receiving the Final Aeon and use it to defeat Sin... despite the high cost. But as we have previous experienced, Yevon hides even more behind what is left unsaid, and at long last we receive the answer to the question: how did Jecht become Sin?
