Vampyr is an action roleplaying game developed by the well-known Dontnod Entertainment (Developers of the Life is Strange franchise) and published by Focus Home Interactive. In this game, follow Jonathan Reid, a doctor who recently just returned to London from participating in the Great War (or otherwise known as World War I). Following a vicious encounter with an unknown creature, he finds himself awakening from a mass grave as a different being that is drowned who hungers to drink blood. Will you he be consumed with this terrible and overwhelming bloodlust? or will he have the willpower to control his urge and follow his hippocratic oath as a doctor to save lives rather than to kill it? Only you may decide.

A game which garnered mixed reactions from both critics and gamers. Praised were given on its authentic scenery of London as a somber city during 1918, on how the various npcs were given importance in the storyline and how the decision making affects the overall story and gameplay of the game. However, different subjects were pointed out in its criticisms. The battle mechanic was clunky and sloppy; its animations are awkward and unpolished; technical issues such as multiple (and lengthy) loading screens, and habitual frame drops; and how its narrative became weaker in later parts of the game.

As for me, I found a love and hate relationship with this game. I liked its overall plot of an individual deciding to be a doctor that save lives or a vampire who takes lives. I also like conversing with its various npcs and doing their side-quests. However, the battle mechanics of the game is largely a let down, it is terrible, although I found it more enjoyable as I later learned some new skills, overall the animations are awkward, there are lag (seriously, in an offline game) in your hits and damages to your enemies. I also did not like the graphics and animations of the game which looked like a common ground during the past generation of gaming. Regardless, a flawed experience. Enjoy the walkthrough!
