Second timer should be timed to the frame. Time starts on clicking the Go to Derbies button, time ends upon demoing the last opponent in Derby 4.

My ultimate goal for Zippy% at the moment is getting the time under 3:26, since that was the time of one of my first Any% world records. Almost had it with this run, but honestly this run isn't super stellar.

Derby 1 was better than the last WR but it was still over a minute. It's possible to complete it in 40 or even around 30 seconds with Eddy, but the stars need to align for that to happen. Still, ideally Derby 1 should be completed in around 50 seconds for a good run. With Zippy%, though, I kinda have to take what I can get.

The splits show the likelihood that I fail the run at any given moment. The percentages are a bit off due to me tending to reset late, especially in Derby 1, but using the percentages displayed in this run, the chance that this run would beat my previous time was:

0.728 x 0.262 x 0.287 x 0.909 = ~0.04975, or about 5%.

That's higher than I thought it would be, but it's still low. There's also several more elements of randomness compared to Any%, as the Zippy kart is so fragile. In the later derbies, it's very easy to be 1 shot, especially if you're being chased by a much larger kart. In addition, special abilities can also destroy you in an instant.

Derby 2 was kinda lackluster, but Derby 3 is definitely the highlight of the run with the double kill on two fridge karts to stay on pace. This is true of Derby 2 as well, but if those demolitions didn't happen exactly when they did, the run probably would have been over.

Derby 4 was fine, although given the reset rate I probably should be saying it went spectacularly. Typically though Derby 4 goes fairly quickly though, because either you immediately lose or you survive long enough to pin the remaining karts, which is what happened here.

Technically, it's probably possible to get a 3:1X, and maybe even lower in a perfect world. I'm going to go for 3:25 or below and probably call it, though, because the volatility of this category is pretty frustrating.

The nice thing is that it's possible to pivot to an Any% run if Derby 1 goes exceptionally well during Zippy% runs, so it feels a bit better than playing Derby 1 over and over again. I'll probably continue doing this until I beat this time.
