3D ART SPEED CHALLENGE in 1 HOUR, 30 MINS & 10 MINS!
63Instead of drawing something for the speed challenge, I've decided to create a 3D rendered artwork in 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 10 minutes!
The conventional speed challenge is 10 minutes, 1 minute, and 10 seconds- but I decided to take this challenge and add my own spin!
It's very interesting to see how the details gradually degrade as I'm forced to pick up my pace. You can actually see my work getting sloppier and sloppier in exchange for speed- yet still somehow come out halfway decent.
I learned a lot while doing this and I'm sure you will as well- the biggest lesson here is that one can absolutely produce something halfway decent within a short period of time so there is no excuse for not creating anything if you are a creative person!
On the more technical side of things, I had to seriously consider what was or was not worth it while 3D modeling and texturing under extreme time pressure. I had to learn how to create a model of a vending machine in 10 minutes- while also thinking about what matters most to create realistic textures for my materials in 10 minutes.
Overall the result came out above expectations! I honestly didn't expect to actually have anything close to the final render by 10 minutes but it was close enough!
