4MLinux is a standalone Linux distribution that provides an ultra-lightweight JWM desktop, application suite, and scripts for installing additional extensions.
As always, the new major release comes with some new features. A File Service Protocol (FSP) server is now included in the assembly (gFTP can be used as a GUI client). Made many system-wide changes to improve font rendering. The 4MLinux install script has been patched to provide better support for JBD partitions.
New applications are available as downloadable extensions: Bluefish (advanced text editor), Ventoy, TripleA (Java strategy game), youtube-dl has been replaced by yt-dlp for better YouTube video support.
Packages have been updated and the new 4MLinux offers, among others: LibreOffice 7.3.1, GNOME Office (AbiWord 3.0.5, GIMP 2.10.30, Gnumeric 1.12.51), DropBox 143.4.4161, Firefox 97.0.1, Chromium 98.0.4758 , Thunderbird 91.6.1, Audacious 4.1, VLC 3.0.16, mpv 0.34.0, Mesa 21.3.7, Wine 7.4.
4MLinux LAMP Server comes with Linux 5.16.14, Apache 2.4.53, MariaDB 10.7.3, PHP 5.6.40 and PHP 7.4.28, Perl 5.34.0, Python 2.7.18 and Python 3.9.9
