Monuments are insane. I'd call them OP as hell, but I actually think I know where they fit in. Since I'm no longer unlocking new skills (unfortunately) training isn't going to get much faster, I mean, other then the slow reduction of clones needed to maximize categories. Monuments are to fill that gap. At least, that's my read of this.

Oh and I get kicked around by bandages and fight a river godess.
