7:00:08 DQ11 Switch Speedrun PB
67Speedrun of DQ11 featuring the excellent switch version that came just came out. Please read this video description as it might have answers to your questions related to this port/speedrun.
What are the differences to this port than the original?
-Being able to skip cutscenes: makes the speedrun 4-5 hours faster
-QoL Changes:Forge anywhere and being able to buy mats. Call horse from anywhere. Orchestrated music, extra voice acting, and JP,ENG voice selections.
-Tons of extra content: 2D mode, Tockle system, Character stories, extra draconion options, and bonus dungeons/bosses.
-Be aware there are 30 minutes of new content spoilers in the speedrun, at the split after ACT 2, if you plan to play this, I recommend avoiding that segment.
Is 2D faster and do you plan to run it?
2D is a different category from 3D and plays very differently in terms of speedrunning (even casually). It is slightly slower because you don't have the ability to skip cutscenes, and a much more difficult run since you have to deal with random encounters (it's impossible to run from this game). Over halfway routing it, hopefully I can do a run of it by the end of this week.
What's the WR and what's your goal?
Goal for 3D run is sub 7, unsure about 2D. I currently have the English best time 7:00, and aoiro_kuroaka has the Japanese best time 6:01. I also hope to write an English guide for both categories, which I'll link here when done.
Should I buy it?
-Yes, if you love the game as it offers tons of replayability and extra content
-Overall solid JRPG for people new to DQ or love RPGs.
-if you want to play it on the go.
