749: Angband 4.2.3-214+ \\ Scroll of Deep Descent, cool caverns, hill orc uniques, acid, encumbrance
Angband is a free, roguelike dungeon exploration game you can download from https://rephial.org, or play right through your web browser at https://angband.live .
And it's open source, so you can even download the source code and compile it yourself. My step-by-step guide to compiling the ASCII version of the game in Windows is on the Angband forum: http://angband.oook.cz/forum/showthread.php?t=11013
The Windows ASCII version I'm running in this video is one I compiled for myself from the latest, version 4.2.3-214 source code (plus my customized title screen):

3:03:40 - wrap-up & what's next!
Learning the inevitable Scroll of Deep Descent threw a loop into things for a bit, and that depth 14 was particularly fun with those big caves and hill orc uniques. : D
The nearly inevitable giant silver ant acid bath means it's finally time to get real armor. I had acid resist but I guess maybe that just reduces some actual damage to HP, and to the particular item with the resist--not to the rest of your gear. I used to get really upset by the constant "bathed in acid" thing, but from reading old forum threads I gathered that the acid is basically a noob filter, because apparently a) monsters with acid attacks taper off after oh I think read it was depth 30 or something and b) once you start getting better gear, most of it--artifacts, certainly--is invulnerable to acid. So eh I guess it's a way to "strongly encourage" you to learn to use missile weapons and to get you to spend money on new armor. 'p'
Ah, a giant red ant had reduced my Strength with its bite (2:18:38).
Toting around a bunch of spare axes definitely takes its encumbrance toll; with heavier armor now I just won't be able to do that. ; ) Still have the axe of slay undead but I bet I'll forget about it by the time I actually run into some undead again!
