One of Vine's earliest memes was 9 + 10 = 21. This was a short vine clip that featured two brothers, with the older asking his kid brother to solve the math equation 9 + 10...His brother gets it wrong. That's the joke. While this may seem like pretty unremarkable video premise, the vine itself went insanely viral, and is still a meme long after Vines demise. But what of the kid in the video? Years ago a rumor surfaced which suggested that "21" kid ran away from home after receiving negative online attention from the 9 + 10 vine. The rumor also suggests that he never returned. Today I take a look back at the origins of the vine, and also explore the veracity of this rumor.
