90 - Caelid - Dragonbarrow Cave - Giant Rune Bear Miniboss
0Upon visiting Northern Caelid, you can cross the bridge and ramp down the path to the coastline. Follow that back west and you'll find the tucked away, somewhat hidden Dragonbarrow Cave. While the cave itself is very short - just one primary enemy encounter aside from the boss room drop down, that enemy more than makes up for being alone.
Giant Rune Bear sucks! This guy is definitely the hardest enemy I've fought that isn't classified outright as a boss yet. He can bear hug you for half your life, swipes for almost that much and has no problem destroying your HP while you're trying to see in the dark cavern. He's also huge so incredibly resilient to poise breaking and gives a very short window for a strong hit. Eventually dodged him manageably well enough to bring him down but just regular bear loot and 6,300 runes or so. What a rough bear - ABSOLUTELY stronger than you'd expect, even compared to the other rune bears out there!
