A Completionist Point of View: Gaming and Relationships - Finding A Balance
43For my first video of 2019, I wanted to talk about how I personally achieve a balance between my video game hobby and my marriage. My motivation for making a video of this sort was due to the live streaming of domestic abuse while a person was playing Fortnite back in early December.
When I first joined Youtube back in 2010, one of the first bits of youtube drama i ever watched was when a wife and kid left a youtube gamer because he made his video games more important than them. I always made a promise to myself that I would never make my hobbies more important than the people who mean the world to me.
I talk about about some of the ways and techniques that I find a healthy balance between my video game hobby and the relationships that I hold dear and I hope people (gamers) who have families or are involved in loving relationships would be willing to share their story.
