In the late 13th century, the Mongol Empire (Great Yuan) plotted to conquer the eastern world, crushing all countries that stood in its way. The invading fleet of the Yuan army was led by the ruthless and cunning general, Khotun Khan. All that stood between him and the Japanese mainland was Tsushima.
In the first battle of the Yuan army’s invasion, Tsushima was engulfed in flames. One samurai, Sakai Jin, barely managed to survive. As a "Kuroudo" (a person of the dead) who has been resurrected from the underworld, Jin resolves to protect the people of Tsushima, even if it means resorting to fighting methods that go against the ways of the samurai, and challenges the Mongol army to a fight.
