A Front Too Far: Normandy - All Reload Animations in 3 Minutes
An open world WW2 FPS shooter indie game made by one guy.
Jarek suggested there's a shooter that is like Ubisoft open world shooter and that is this game. The same guy who made Easy Red 2. Oh boy, where do I fucking begin? As much I want to like this game, this has many major issues. But before I slam this game hard, let's talk the good things. I like it's open world and also somehow relaxing to play. Bad things are that bugs are somewhat common in this game. One is that cars flips way to easily. Yet you have to drive them to get travels around faster so drive slowly when off road. Also there's small chance you'll fall the bottom of the map if cars are upside down. And speaking of travels, the world feels okay-ish. Besides so many boring trees, there are towns (low poly shit lol) that can be enjoyable to stroll. But the WORST bug are that later mission don't work shit anymore! Least I got all weapons for my YouTube video, I think. So let's talk about those, shall well?
Now for weapon animations, don't get me started. It's not that even great to begin with. Very stiff. Much so than Easy Red 2. But I should not be harsh on the developer. I get it. He worked his ass off on this game if could have fixed the bugs I stated above. Also the sounds is somehow either too loud or quiet if using headphones so beware headphone users!
For weapon performance, most weapons are about downright useless being a game having a inventory system relies on weight which that sucks balls. So best weapons are gonna be Kar98k and MP40 as two of them are light to carry. Rest of the guns feel the fucking same but heavier. Gunplay is average at best. You have to stay still to be accurate as moving around like a bitch will make your weapon sway. Finally melee weapons exist. Don't bother using them, even if fighting aganist Evil Bunnies. Like WTF why katana exist in a World War 2 game set in Western Front?! That should been in Pacific Front!
To close off this review, this game is worth $5 dollars. What do I think of the price? With Easy Red 2 and it's Stalingrad DLC out being now $10 more and A Front Too Far Normandy game made before the second, it's hard to say. They are pretty similar both having open world objectives and inventory mechanics, but shooting is wayy better and less buggy. While I do like the idea of having Far Cry style, a linear objective battle action styles is that engaging than a one army man helping resistance feeling lonely. Ignoring the bad graphics and shooting, the bugs and shitty driving is just really hard to recommend the game. If developer could these issues, it would been a good game. But asking for five bucks ehhh... IDK what to say about it. The game is chill to play, don't get me wrong. Just fix the bugs pls. Otherwise don't buy it. Go play Easy Red 2 instead. If wanting FPS open world game, Far Cry, The Saboteur (it is a WW2 open world at least), or anything else. Stay far far away from it. Sorry Marco.
If I miss anything, let me down down the comments.
