A New Online Competition: the Alola Friendly! + New BREAKS Evolve in Pokémon TCG!
8Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! It's time again for a weekly news update video thingy!
- Once again, I've got some Pokémon TCG booster packs to open up! This week will be Phantom Forces and Primal Clash, with the code cards (as always) going out to some lucky viewers. I'll open up the boosters near the end of the video, and give you viewers the Question of the Day to respond to. Leave your response in a comment down below using the hashtag #QOTD, and you'll be entered into the running to receive one of the code cards (chosen randomly) when I do the drawing this coming Sunday, January 15.
- The next Online Competition for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, called the Alola Friendly, is coming up at the end of this month, Trainers! This will be a Single battle format, prohibiting the use of Mythical and Legendary Pokémon, as well as Mega Stones. Only Pokémon found in the Alolan Pokédex can be used, and for those particular species that have regional variants (like Persian, for instance), only the Alolan variation will be permitted. Sign-ups for the competition run from Thursday, January 19 to Thursday, January 26, and the competition is limited to the first 50,000 participants. The battles run from Friday, January 27 to Sunday, January 29, with Trainers being able to participate in 15 battles per day. By completing three battles over the course of the competition, you'll earn the participation prize of 50 Battle Points for use in game to pick up certain special items at the Battle Tree, such as Mega Stones. C'mon out for a friendly competition in the Alola Friendly!
- Pokémon Snap makes its glorious return as a Wii U Virtual Console title! Relive the Pokémon franchise's classic first foray into the world of 3D console gaming as you travel along Pokémon Island, snapping photographs of many species of Pokémon in their natural habitats. If Pokémon GO's camera feature and the Rotom Dex's Poké Finder function in Sun and Moon have whetted your appetite for Pokémon photography, Pokémon Snap is a great way to keep the fun rolling along!
- Released back on Friday, January 6 is a new Pokémon TCG: BREAK Evolution Box, featuring Arcanine BREAK. This collection comes with an oversize card of Arcanine BREAK, three promo cards featuring Arcanine BREAK, Crobat BREAK, and Mandibuzz BREAK, 5 Pokémon TCG booster packs, and an online code card to unlock these BREAK Evolutions in Pokémon TCG Online.
