Mods featured in video.
1. Azure Sheep
https://www.moddb.com/mods/azure-sheep/downloads/azure-sheep-10
Developers: Azure Sheep Team (Consisting of Andrea "Toadman" B., Davide “DAV” Cintrão, Sven Patrick, and many others)
A classic mod where Barney has to save his girl friend Kate after the Black Mesa incident features a talking Gordon Freeman, few Half-Life beta enemies (Archer and Chumtoad) and a Aliens inspired pulse rifle with sounds straight taken from the movie mod is quite challenging on hard difficulty so be warned (the climax has a fight with Apache 4 helicopters)
2. Chemical Existence
https://www.moddb.com/mods/chemical-existence/downloads/half-life-chemical-existence-full-install-v100
Needs this patch to work properly on Steam.
https://www.moddb.com/mods/chemical-existence/downloads/chemical-existence-steamfix-v11
Developers: Evilghoul, Redgenesis/WiT Entertainment
One of the earliest Half-Life Total Conversion mods highlights include a slightly broken scripted boat chase, a creepy nightmare sequence, OG Quake style graphics and headshot gore, and a neat assortment of new weapons.
3. E7 Black Star
https://www.moddb.com/mods/e7-black-star/downloads/e7-black-star
Developer: Igor Knyazev (Knazev33)
This mod is Half-Life if it took place in Russia also the main character is a prisoner.
Has Russian weapons to replace the OG ones and also features secret levels.
Early in the game you also have to jump on top of trip mines and stealth your way through guards so lots of new ideas but I honestly found this mod to start out really slow compared to most other mods.
4. Life's End
https://www.moddb.com/mods/lifes-end2/downloads/lifes-end1
Developer: Daniel Squire aka King Daniel
A really funny but well made mod that starts out somewhat normal.
The biggest highlight is the Star Trek parody and the boxing match in the ring.
5. Sweet Half-Life
https://www.moddb.com/mods/sweet-half-life/downloads/sweet-half-life-10
Developers: Marc Ellis, Koumei Satou, Gareth Lough, Karu_gamo,
Credits: Steven k. Headley (voice acting), and Amit katz (in-game texts)
Really fun mod featuring 3 new weapons, (including a powerful minigun)
enemies taken from Half-Life beta such as the HECU Sergeant, A new gray alien enemy, and a friendly HEV suit wearing anime/manga character who helps you out mostly from a distance however besides that and a few manga style artwork on walls this mod has nearly nothing to do with anime/manga.
The co-creator of this mod is famous for his Half-Life 2 mod Mistake of Pythagoras.
6. Timeline Series/Trilogy
https://www.moddb.com/mods/timeline-series/downloads/timeline-complete-steam-compatible
Developer: Ross Smith
3 separate mods that feature time travel and the bad guys from Wolfenstein The New Order in fact these mods especially the 1st and 3rd part feel a lot like the alternate history story of The New Order.
7. USS Darkstar
https://www.moddb.com/mods/uss-darkstar/downloads/uss-darkstar-steam-fix
Developers: Neil Manke and Einar Saukas
A short and classic very Alien/Aliens movie/outer space inspired mod however the highlight would be the part where you shrink your self to be ant sized to enter inside the computer system to activate/destroy something inside feels very much like the 1966 movie Fantastic Voyage but without the biology/medical element.
I miss ant/rat/giant size maps like this.
Kindly Please consider subscribing so I can cover more classic mods and games.
