A Subpar Player Plays Super Metroid
0I recently described Super Metroid as 'the hardest game I really enjoy playing'. I much prefer simpler RPGs (or fighting games I can exploit) but occasionally I do enjoy playing games like this, and every once in a while I feel like loading it up and giving it a playthrough. This time I went ahead and decided to record it just for kicks.
The only glitch-like trick I can do relatively reliably is the Mockball, with which I'm able to skip Sporespawn, and from there have my own little route I follow for my convenience and peace of mind, like hitting the gauntlet early just to beef myself up a bit before my nemesis, Phantoon, who is the hardest boss for me to fight vanilla. Amusingly, in this playthrough Omega Missiles were indeed the Omega Missiles--normally I grab them at the end of the 2nd full Brinstar loop right before going to Maridia, but I forgot them this time until the very end of the game.
Anyway, just wanted to record one of these so here it is, without commentary but all the riveting wince-inducing gameplay from a guy who isn't very good at this game but enjoys it anyway.
