So! Recently the X-Crew has been dabbling in Dungeons and Dragons! One night, when only 3 of us show up for League of Legends, and with one of us only having 90 minutes to play games that night, I took a bit of a bold leap and offered my services as Dungeon Master for a completely 100% impromptu one-shot adventure.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You'll hear us refer to this as "D&D," but this is NOT Dungeons and Dragons. What you're going to see played in this video is a ruleset of my own making that you won't find on store shelves or listed anywhere online. I made these rules myself. There are a lot of key differences between D&D and my own rulesets, but, for the purposes of watching this video, anybody familiar with Dungeons and Dragons should be able to follow along just fine.

A no-prep adventure, especially one that must be completed in only 90 minutes, is an intimidating task for any Dungeon Master! But I've been a DM for many campaigns over the past 20 years or so (I started tabletop roleplaying before it was all the rage—way back in the late 90's!), and I figured I'd be daring tonight and give it a try.

I haven't DM'd in a long time though! I'm a bit rough around the edges in my DM'ing skill.

So, here's some backdrop for this play session. Our friend and member of the X-Crew, Nightlyshadow, has recently begun her own career as a Dungeon Master, herself, and not long ago she ran a one-shot campaign of her own design for us in Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. Hers was a well thought out campaign with lots of prep behind it, and it was very fun to play.

Foxypants, one of the players in this video, also played in Nightly's one-shot, and you'll a few times hear us mention the town of Wellspring from Nightly's campaign, as well as dice, tokens, and equipment that we saved (via Save Object in Tabletop Simulator) for later use.

Shinya, the other player in this video, has never played a tabletop roleplaying game before of any kind. Not Dungeons and Dragons, not Pathfinder, nothing. This is his first time! (Note: he did sit in on Nightly's one-shot though, so he's not _completely_ unfamiliar with the concept.)

Alright! There you go! You now have all the background necessary to completely follow along in this video. Hope you folks enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
