Hello everyone! This was one of the most anticipated demos for this Steam Next Festival. Here we are with Blackout Protocol, a fairly hard co-op tactical top-down shoter roguelite that is meant to be played with 3 players (it reminded me a bit to GTFO). You can still play solo and go for easy difficulty (or just try over and over until you can clear normal), but I think the proper way to enjoy it is going with other 2 and play the medium difficulty. Sadly, I couldn't do it; we tried with 2 players, and we reached halfway until my teammate had to go, so I just went for the solo "easy" experience. But I like that, even when you play on easy, this is not a shoot 'em up where you just shoot and spam skills, here you have to be more tactical, time your reloads and your rolls, remember you have a melee and save your skill for when you need it. Upgrades overall where pretty simple, but when you get a Platinum one is great. As I said, I would like to be able to drop the upgrades so your teammates can pick them up, in case you get stuff that is not for you right now.

Also, not a big fan of most of the weapons. I tried a couple more (not included in the video) and just couldn't get the hang of it, ike the shotgun and a couple of plasma ones.

Anyways, the game looks great, it actually has a great atmosphere, gameplay feels polished and balanced, and overall it's a really nice experience. This is what I would have expected from SlavicPunk
