Game: Fate/Unlimited Codes (PSP)
Music: Antti Martikainen - Xian
Well, I've finally finished it. I've come a long while on a road of laziness to get here. Should write some backstory while I'm at it.
So, I really love Fate series, and happened to have Unlimited Codes on PSP for a while. I absolutely love this game, its interaction and design. However, nobody plays it and developers have long ago abandoned it. Eventually, I felt like I have to do some sort of grace for this game - a tribute. Well, if not me, then who else? Might as well try out some Adobe AE mad synchronization skills.
I've recorded quite a lot of combos on my old dying laptop (the irony), spending a lot of time thinking of something that would look cool. Unfortunately, Archer doesn't seem to work like he did on PS2 version, spent many hours trying to find a good Caladbolg or UBW combo without much success. Another thing, PSP recording seemed to lag, so I had to record most of them using key replay in practice mode, and speed up the footage according to lag (or sync with audio). Couldn't find space for many other cool combos, and I'm kinda of sad about that swag Zero Lancer infinite, but whatever.
First, choosing an audio. I love epic music, so choosing genre was a no-brainer. Looking back upon many music, they didn't feel right. Then I found this Xian track. It felt like a proper one for "tribute", the tone and pacing overall were good to sync video as well. I've spent a lot of time trying to make intro somehow watchable, almost to the point of losing all motivation. However, some kind youtube commentor burnt a bit of my motivation back, so here we are. I was honestly surprised when I was putting the comboes together - it almost felt like this video wants to be made. Almost every track I've chosen had almost perfect sync with theme and music beat. However, the end result is still imperfect - some moments at the beginning and that awful slow Saber Alter combo... Guess it's as imperfect as a human creating it. Well, that's it, I hope you enjoyed this video as an ultimate form of flattery to this game.
Special thanks: best friend Lex_XL for fail motivation, youtube commenter iuri Lua for good motivation.
