A Very MIXED Bag - Victoria 3 One Year Later
2,165They somehow made it worse lads. Vic3’s big, hyped-up anniversary patch 1.5 dropped recently, and so did the recent reviews on steam. It received massive criticism and complaints. How did Paradox pull it off, and what does this mean for Victoria 3? They did a free weekend, invested in marketing and had an extensive open beta, yet patch 1.5 was still a failure that needed 4 hotfixes. It barely even raised the playercount, while 1 year after its own launch, Stellaris was already turning things around as I’ll show in a devastating comparison. Of course, there are some positives to take away from this, and I will talk about them.
The update came with a significant rework of the infamous military system, for which I’m known for being a big voice of criticism. So in this video I give my take on the changes, how they fit into the game in general, and how this is a shift from the launch of the game. Maybe the war system isn’t actually the worst aspect of Victoria 3, and I’ve come to dislike other things more.
