For many people, this boss can be a pain the arse to kill, but there is an easier way to do it, albeit a very sad way. Once you steal the clothes from his dead sister, he will become aggro and remain aggro even if you die and come back. Though, you may note that if you aggro him and do not steal the clothes, you can leave and come back and he's reset. Anyway, when you grab the clothes move to the right a bit and wait for him to do his fire tendril. Right after that book it towards the fog gate. CD will follow you with a rage and try to get you, but, if you're speedy enough, he'll fall short and you'll make it to the gate.

However, once you get there an interesting thing happens. He won't try to attack you and will just leap at you and embed his stumpy hand into the ground and look at you with those pathetic, pleading eyes. He cries and screams until you hack at his stump a few times. Finally, he will drop down into the lava and clear the way for you. This tragic end shows you his despair and anguish at failing to keep safe the remains of his beloved sister, and his resignation to die at your hands. You monster.
