The Oseans attempt to create a front in Chopinburg that would lead them straight across the bay to retake the International Space Elevator, now under Erusean control while a second attack also conducted by Osea on Erusea's capital of Farbanti was underway. After suspecting that the Arsenal Birds, Liberty and Justice, which make up the space elevator's defense, may have fallen into Erusean hands as well, HQ still decided to go along with the offensive. The gamble ultimately failed, and Erusea sent in one of the Arsenal Birds (namely Liberty) with its equipped MQ-101s (an improved drone model), whose power was greatly underestimated by Osea, as well as a legendary ace pilot, later to be identified as the famous Mihaly A. Shilage (Mister X) of the Erusean experimental Sol Squadron, and quickly gained air superiority over Chopinburg. Meanwhile the second attack on Farbanti ended in failure and the loss of Osea's aircraft carrier, Kestrel II.
