Earlier today, Activision Blizzard held their Q4 2018 Earnings call in which they reported record high revenue that still did not meet expectations. During that call Activision announced they were laying off 8% of their 9,700 person workforce, which amounts to around 800 people, in order to hire more developers to create live services content.
