These Actors Look Super Young, But It's Totally FAKE! Subscribe: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Things

Sometimes movie makeup and impressive prosthetics just aren’t enough to transform characters into younger versions of themselves-- that’s where CGI comes in. The days of casting look-alike actors for flashbacks are long gone-- de-aging is just getting better. By mapping actors' faces and using references of their past movies, visual effects studios like Lola VFX are able to create entirely digital versions of actors, graft younger looking skin onto their faces, and even change their height and the fullness of their hair. This is how Johnny Depp became a young Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom managed to stay the forever youthful, immortal Legolas, and the Losers Club from “IT: Chapter 2” were able to film new flashback scenes even after major growth spurts.

This technology was also used to let Carrie Fisher reprise her role as Princess Leia in “Rogue One” and to make Nicole Kidman look like a younger Queen Atlanna in “Aquaman” flashbacks. Marvel is one of the top users of this advanced movie-making technology-- they de-aged Samuel L. Jackson by 30 years for “Captain Marvel” and gave Scarlett Johansson CGI skin and hair to time travel in “Avengers: End Game.”

Films like “Gemini Man” and “X-Men: The Last Stand” revolutionized CGI aging forever. But is this tech really as impressive as it seems, or can you still see that these actors aren’t really themselves? We’ll let you be the judge of that, so click play and let’s explore some of the coolest CGI de-aging transformations of all time.
