Ok, if you've read the first caps heavy line, good job.
In early 2016, I did 3 runs at Awesome Games Done Quick 2016.
This speed run is my first live race at a marathon event with 125k+ people watching it live on Twitch. Apparently it was well received on Twitter.

The game itself in a racing perspective is definitely a
"you win some and you lose some" tier
because there's some picky time savers in 2 of the regular stages including Merak's Skill Jump (1 in 30 frames trick) and Viper's 2 cycle sub boss fight (requires intense mashing without breaks).

There is also a little bit of luck involved against some of the bosses including:
Jota (green teleporting guy, bad move = takes less damage),
Carrera (bulky gravity guy, bad move = takes less damage),
Nova 2 (big statue, wind attack = can't damage it ) and
True Final boss (number of attack cycles before important tackle attack so that I can tag him and deal damage)

I previously did a "one try marathon" attempt back in late September called Azure Blur where the winner of that race gets a free trip to Japan, so with that experience and playing the game way past my bedtime (~1am in the UK when this happened), I was impressed overall.
