#AD Rayforce: Quality of life features comparison between Ray'z Arcade Chronology and S-Tribute
Labelled as #AD as I was given a Switch Game Key of Ray'z Arcade Chronology from PR Hound. This video is not a paid sponsor. This is a mandatory thing to mention from UK content creators.
Bit of quickie comparison. Mainly focusing on quality of life features that were introduced in the emulated releases such as save states.
This iconic Shmup by Taito in the early 90s was released for arcades and then the Sega Saturn which was renamed to Layer Section or Galactic Attack depending on the region as there was a licencing issue with its original name at the time.
In the 2020s the game was re-released to Nintendo Switch and other platforms but using the Sega Saturn build dubbed as S-Tribute which is running a Sega Saturn emulator and is powered by the Zebra engine.
Jump to 2023 and Ray'z Arcade Chronology is a bigger collection of the Ray shmups franchise as it includes the later 2 games along with its HD ports, this one was developed by M2 who is no stranger to high quality emulation.
The purpose of this video is showcasing the pros and cons.
For example while the Arcade release does support 12 save slots, it does not support slow mode nor rewind.
