Add Email to Telegram: How To on iPhone or Android!
Adding an email address to your Telegram account can help improve your account’s security and recovery options, especially if you ever need to log in from a new device. Whether you're using an iPhone or an Android, the steps are virtually identical, and this guide walks you through the entire process so you can link your email with ease.
First, make sure your Telegram app is updated to the latest version. You can do this by heading to the App Store on iPhone or the Google Play Store on Android, searching for "Telegram," and updating it if needed. Keeping the app current ensures you have access to all the latest security features, including email-based logins.
Once your app is updated, open Telegram and sign into your account. Tap the three-line menu icon (also called the hamburger icon) at the top-left corner of the screen. From there, select "Settings" to access your personal Telegram preferences.
Next, go to the "Privacy and Security" section. Scroll down to find the "Email" or "Login Email Address" option. This is where you can add or change your email. Tap on it and select "Set Email" or "Change Email" depending on whether you’re adding it for the first time or updating an existing one.
You’ll be prompted to enter your email address. Once submitted, Telegram will send a confirmation code to that email. Check your inbox, enter the code in the app, and your email will be successfully linked to your Telegram account. You may also have the option to sign in using your Google account for quicker setup.
Linking your email adds an extra layer of protection and makes it easier to recover your account or verify identity when logging in from new devices.
