Overview:
First an overview about why slowing down your PC makes sense. Followed up by showing an option which does not work: Using the available Turbo Pins on Boards like Super Socket 7 or Slot 1. Exotic cases of boards with a CPU plug and play feature, where you can set the CPU speed in BIOS (PCChips M598). Quick overview about other BIOS settings and tools/Software too slow down the CPU. Demonstration on how AMD K6 II+ and AMD K6 III+ can be slowed down in the Operating System. As last option I demonstrate my two DIY versions. First one using a mechanical switch to set the Jumpers, and second being relais which are used to "remote control" the jumpers for the CPU Clock Speed and Multiplier. I then combine two options and show you some benchmarks and possible remaining issues.
