Adjusting Item Properties with Xpath - 7 Days to Die A21 XML Modding Tutorial for Beginners [7]
Greetings everybody and welcome to a modding tutorial for 7 Days to Die A21! This series of tutorials is designed for a complete beginner to get into modding and by the end of this series, to be able to make modlets with custom items, blocks, recipes, loot and buffs.
In this episode:
We change some properties of items, allowing coal and gas to burn longer as fuel, make it so coffee dehydrates the player but grants longer buff duration, change stack sizes of all ammo, and make pipe weapons not sellable to the trader and break after their durability hits 0. We cover some more complicated XPath expressions that allow us to select more than one node at once, without specifying the name of every one we want to select, using the starts-with() and not() functions to get us closer. Finally we look at the insertafter xpath to place nodes exactly where we want them to go.
