The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof Ishaq Oloyede in 2017 initiated the central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) with mandate to preclude human interference in the admission process as well as provide an active platform through which all major stakeholders in the admission process could function.

The platform also gives candidates opportunity to either accept or reject offers of admission if they are not pleased with the programmes offered.

This wasn't the case before now as the admission process in the nation's tertiary institutions was flawed with irregularities.

This achievement no doubt may not be far from reasons why the CAPS initiative has attracted commendation from various education stakeholders including the vice chancellor Babcock University, Prof. Adeyemo Tayo.

In a chat with Jamb bulletin, the university administrator said CAPS has instilled global best practices in the screening of candidates for admission, eliminating multiple admissions and admission racketeers as well as preventing unqualified candidates from gaining entrance into our tertiary institutions.

Stressing that Babcock University, identifies with the laudable strides,Prof Tayo further tasks the board to take into consideration institutions that have made stable academic calendar a hallmark of their academic agenda in their scheduling of admission activities.

This he concluded will be very relevant as the board prepares for the 2020 Policy meeting on admissions.
